I sent my gyno a portal message with several questions about the procedure. She requested a Zoom (virtual) consult to go over them in detail. She assured me that failure of a bilateral salpingectomy is virtually unheard of. She will perform my surgery at a local surgical center. She could excuse me from work for 2-3 days after the outpatient procedure, but more than that would be difficult to justify. She would look around for signs of endometriosis while she was in there. I can discontinue my pills immediately after surgery or finish out the pack to avoid a period during the healing process. No intercourse for 2 weeks post-op. I forgot to ask about going to the gym. I’m told I will hear from the surgical scheduler once the doctor puts the orders in.
A few hours later I call the scheduler to see if she can give me the CPT (billing) codes used for the procedure so I can check insurance coverage. She says the orders have not come in yet, She’ll let me know in 24-48 hours when she gets them.
