I got a phone call today that I got my bloodwork done too early. Per the surgical center, it needs to be within 7 days of the operation. Not a big deal, but I wish that had been communicated to me by the surgical scheduler. I scheduled a second draw for April 30th. She also informed me that the preauthorization they sent in was returned because my insurance already “covers” this procedure. I call and the insurance company tells me they have no waiver process in place to get this surgery covered at 100% as a preventative procedure even though they legally have to. I decide I will just need to appeal the bill when I receive it, as the customer service reps don’t seem to know enough to help me at this point.
